I found this idea on
Pinterest and knew I had to make them for my kids. I normally make pink heart shaped pancakes for Valentines day but they take a lot of time to make. These were a piece of cake, or pancake.
Simple, just make your favorite pancake recipe, I used my
whole wheat apple pancakes.
Use half of the batter the regular color. Then when you get half way add some red food coloring (I should have added more) and make the rest of the pancakes.
Once they're all done take your heart shaped cookie cutter and cut the middles out. This is my daughters, she wanted a picture. Then switch the colored pancake hearts for the regular pancake hearts.
See? Simple!
